TheCommunity.com has been doing projects with the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates for more than six years. We recently launched a social network for peace and human rights. While we were building it, we decided to launch a separate, completely child-safe and child-appropriate social network, just for the kids. The Nobel Laureates we talked to about it loved the idea and even have their own ideas on how they can engage with the kids on the site. And The Peace Kids was born.

The first project of Peace Kids will allow classrooms to adopt villages in Sudan. The project, which is the result of our Youth Ambassadors' interview with actor George Clooney, is being launched with the IRC, one of the oldest and most reputable organizations working in the area.

Kids will learn about the way the kids in the villages live, what some of their customs are and, when they are able to go to school, what they are learning in school.

They will be able to help with mosquito nets and other basic, inexpensive supplies that will help the children in their village through difficult times.
